We take great pride in our work, often partnering with nationally acclaimed designers and builders.  Our flooring has been featured in various publications and showcased in numerous Luxury Home Tours nationwide.

Signature Hardwax Oil Finish

Our custom handcrafted solid and engineered hardwood floors are sealed with renewable Hardwax Oil finish.  The Hardwax Oil finish is an ALL NATURAL, non-pollutant, non-toxic, No-or-Low VOC product with no biocides, no preservatives, and is lead-benzene free.  It is produced in Europe from natural materials such as vegetable oil and natural waxes made from purified renewable, natural raw resources.  Its open grain structure allows the floor to breathe which has a regulatory effect on moisture, ensuring a healthy room climate – keeping within the spirit of wood’s natural hydroscopic characteristics.  The special features of this finish allow the oils to penetrate deeply into the wood pores to enhance, while the wax remains on the surface to maintain a beautiful, natural, silky-matte feel and create a protective layer, offering a resistant and lasting finish.  In essence, the wax is bonded to the wood via the oil. By finishing the wood with Hardwax Oil the ultimate color of the floor will flourish and continue to enhance with time.

Hardwax Oil has the most environmentally friendly benefits as a wood finish and contributes to a healthy living environment.  The finish is water repellent and does not watermark, will not crack, flake, peel, blister or panelize like polyurethane or water-based (laminated plastic looking) finishes.  Hardwax Oil is stain-resistant against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices and milk.  The floor will flourish over time while the floor patinas.  Maintaining the floor through the process of reapplication will partly retain its essence thereby making it quite easy to maintain.

In comparison to the most commonly used polymerized or “plastic” finishes today, such as Polyurethane Oil, Water-based finish, ceramic and aluminum-oxide, Hardwax Oil is easily and readily repairable.  This is true for spot repair of the entire floor.  In contrast, “plastic” finishes are not spot-repairable, so in order to repair any damage to a “plastic” finished floor, it is necessary to completely sand down and refinish the floor, regardless of size.  This means substantial expense and inconvenience.  “Plastic” finished floors need to be re-sanded approximately every 7-10 years.  Re-sanding is not a concern when a floor is finished with Hardwax Oil.  With proper maintenance using approved Maintenance Oils and Soaps your floor will last a lifetime and will always maintain its genuine natural beauty and even enhance with time as the patina enriches itself with your self-maintenance.  When it’s time to refresh your floor, simply re-apply another coat of Hardwax Oil and allow it to dry for 12 to 24 hours.  There is no need to sand down your floor.  The application of the Hardwax Oil does not create any air pollution; there is no dust and no odor.

Our Hardwax Oil finish is virtually maintenance-free and should not be confused with regular oil or wax finishes that require monthly maintenance and buffing.  We recommend that your floor is simply refreshed every 5 to 7 years or as needed.  In high traffic applications such as commercial and industrial floors, refreshing is recommended more often.

Signature French Oak Floors

Take a step back in time with our Vintage French Oak Collection.  Inspired by French Chateaus, Italian Villas and English Manors, the Vintage French Oak Collection includes naturally aged and hand-distressed French Oak flooring.  It looks and feels like it had gradually worn over hundreds of years, presenting an authentic antique Old World appearance.  Our Vintage French Oak is available in all Signature Flooring Collections.

Our French Oak, not to be confused with domestic Red or White Oak, comes from responsibly managed forests in France and Europe.  The lumber is first naturally air aged outside for a period of 3 to 5 years.  Then it’s slowly kiln dried for 6 to 8 weeks for added stability.  No chemicals are used in this process.

Next, the lumber is selected for character marks that include closed and open knots, natural splits and color variations.  Our floors are manufactured from Rustic lumber, named by our company as “Vintage” grade.

Our Vintage French Oak wide plank flooring blends old world character with casual elegance, making it the connoisseur’s choice for flooring.  It conveys a bit of timeworn sophistication that will feel of French décor and give your home an old world European flair.

An integral part of the French design is a French Oak floor, boasting effortless refinement.  The hallmark of the French Provencal style may be best described as graceful with a country patina.  French Country decorating often incorporates the relaxed warmth and comfort of American décor while adding a touch of elegance into the mix.  It’s a style that features both taste and character.

French Oak is our great favorite chosen for its durability, beauty and practicality.  It’s the oldest and most versatile flooring material, highly prized for its beautiful warm color, the fine, uniform texture and its tight, straight grain.

These well-known qualities are ideal for upscale commercial spaces and high-end private residences.

French Oak flooring is a natural product.  Like every tree, each board is unique with its own individual character. This is, after all, the attraction of real wood, and therefore it will never date.  Over the years your French Oak floors will mature and the color will gradually darken, increasing in richness and depth.

We are sure that our products will complement and enhance the character and warmth of your home.

Benefits of Vintage French Oak flooring:
• Warm to the touch
• Hard wearing and long lasting
• Hygienic – Prevents dust allergies
• Easy to clean and maintain
• Timeless – Improves with age
• Practical – Natural character marks will hide accidental dents or scratches
• Versatile (stain, oil, wax, polyurethane or water-based lacquer finishes can be applied)

French Oak flooring is a stunning feature in any room.  You will have the look and feel of a genuine European hardwood floor, affordably priced, without the maintenance issues associated with most modern wood floors.

Below you will find the descriptions of each of our flooring collections.  All flooring collections are handcrafted originals by our Signature team.

Signature Flooring Collections

Victorian Collection

The Victorian era, appropriately named for Queen Victoria’s reign of Britain, is known for its eclectic revival in historic styles of furniture fittings and interior decoration.  The late Victorian period saw the birth of the Arts and Crafts movement, the Aesthetic movement and Art Nouveau styles.

Our Victorian Collection represents true Old World hand scraped flooring. This flooring is customized and handcrafted to perfection by our Master Craftsmen, using only hand tools and secret recipes for dyes and stains.  Each floorboard is oiled and hand waxed before it’s installed. The final result will surpass even your highest expectations. The Victorian Collection includes full board hand scrape, hand antiqued surface, handcrafted four-sided pillowed edge bevel, as well as naturally beautiful, hand filled knots and natural splits.

The Victorian Collection is available stained in any of our custom colors and sealed with commercial grade renewable Hardwax Oil.

Tuscany Collection

The gorgeous vistas of Tuscany Hills, rolling with endless vineyards and olive gardens, gave us the primary inspiration for our Tuscany Collection.  During the Renaissance Era it was common for beautiful estates to commission famous Italian and French artists to decorate their walls with oil paintings full of rich colors that captured the period’s elegance for centuries to come.  Our wide plank flooring is enhanced with a daring, curvy, hand crafted, four-sided bevel.  The natural, hand filled splits, knots and color variations enhance the rich and bold appearance.  This exclusive collection is quite unique and adds to the distinguished look of this spectacular hardwood flooring.

The Tuscany Collection is available unfinished or stained in any of our custom colors and sealed with commercial grade renewable Hardwax Oil.

Villa Collection

In ancient Rome, rural Villas were the wealthy farmers’ homes surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens.  The Villa style residences were popular in many Italian cities as well.  The city Villas were called Villa Urbana and the farming Villas were called Villa Rustica. Our inspiration for the Villa Collection flooring comes from Villa Rustica, the original Italian farmer’s home.  The wide plank flooring has a two-sided, small, handcrafted v-groove bevel, creating the illusion of flooring that has been assembled from many very long planks.

The Villa Collection is available unfinished or stained in any of our custom colors and sealed with commercial grade renewable Hardwax Oil.

Estate Collection

An Estate is comprised of the houses and outbuildings as well as supporting farmland and woods that surround the gardens and grounds of a very large property.  This would be quite like a country house or a mansion typically built for the wealthy.  In Europe, the word “Estate” may often refer to all other cottages and villages in the same area as the mansion itself.  An example of such an estate is Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire, England. If you’re a fan of the PBS series Downton Abbey then it should be easy to imagine such a sprawling, pristine estate.  Our inspiration for the Estate Collection flooring comes from English estate mansions where wood floors are flat, straight and beautiful.  The wide plank flooring has square edges, allowing for easy cleaning and maintenance.

The Estate Collection is available unfinished only.  The floor needs to be stained and finished on site.

Smoked black oak

Signature Smoked Black Oak

Our Smoked Black French Oak wide plank hardwood flooring is an exceptionally unique wood with many stunning features.  These individual features, ranging from the deep and traditional color to the high level of work that goes into the creation of this product, differentiate it from much of the other flooring that is sold.  As a result of the natural smoking process that the Oak undergoes, not only does the wood become more stable, but the grain of the wood becomes lighter than the wood itself.  This stunning feature is the reverse product of staining, making the Black Smoked French Oak flooring very distinctive.  It is the ideal flooring to incorporate into any room in order to create the perfect look, feeling, or vibe.  The Black Smoked French Oak is available in Character grade, unfinished or pre-finished with Hardwax Oil in 7” wide plank and ¾” solid or engineered structure,  in all Signature Flooring Collections.
