Behind the Scenes Rolex Showroom Chevron

At Signature we relish every opportunity to make an impact to create a one of a kind work of art. So when our dear friend and long-time customer, Stan Razny the owner of Razny Jewelers, approached us to ask for our help with an upcoming project at their Highland Park store, of course we said yes.
With the COVID-19 Pandemic keeping stores closed during the mid months of 2020 and limited entry during the following months it was the perfect opportunity to remodel with minimal disruption.
Luxury Inspiration
Rolex watches are crafted from the finest raw materials and assembled with scrupulous attention to detail. Every component is designed, developed and produced to the most exacting standards. The showroom environment is no exception to this and must embody the same characteristics.
The 3,500 square foot Rolex section of the Jewelry store specified use of exquisitely crafted, carbonized European White Oak Rift & Quarter Sawn to be laid in a chevron pattern floor and surrounded by a stunning Italian Marble floor as the border.

Challenges
One of the challenges we faced was ensuring, like Rolex watches, the hardwood flooring would be enjoyed for many decades to come.
We started by moisture proofing the existing concrete subfloor. The use of a specialty moisture cured primer eliminates the concrete as a potential source for moisture which can effect the hardwood during seasonal changes.
Next was the precise installation of a plywood subfloor so that when the chevron hardwood floor was installed it would be level and a seamless transition from marble to hardwood.

Another intricate and precise detail to the hardwood floor installation was how the chevron patterned joined the Italian Marble.
This metal inlay provided a stunning transition between the beautiful floor surfaces.

The decadent and beautiful Italian Marble provides a cool tone while the rich carbonized European White Oak adds warmth to the room.
The neutral tones of the wood and marble are accented by the metallic gold of the Rolex lettering and logo as well as by the cadmium green glass backdrop. The design is sure to compliment each and every Rolex watch and wow every showroom guest.
