Silent Auction Submission at Catholic Charities Gala

Catholic Charities fulfills the Church’s role in the mission of charity to anyone in need by providing compassionate, competent and professional services that strengthen and support individuals, families and communities based on the value and dignity of human life.  Catholic Charities is guided by core values: Respect, Compassion, Competence and Stewardship.

For 13 years now, Catholic Charities have been organizing the “Gala of the Arts” – an annual art event with the purpose of raising money for Catholic Charities Emergency assistance programs. It was an honor for our company to be invited by Carol and Michael Bilder, 2014 gala Vice Chair Couple and our dearest friends, to provide a donation for this year’s silent auction.

Instead of donating baseball tickets or sports memorabilia, we decided to create a one-of-a-kind solid French Oak wood coffee table, especially designed and handcrafted by Peter Skowron, Signature Hardwoods’ artisan. The solid wood used for this piece came from 200-year-old trees harvested in Central Europe and France.  The table was dyed and stained in our Black Walnut color and finished with environmentally friendly Hardwax Oil.

This beautiful piece of art sold at the silent auction for $1,600.

The Gala was held in the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier in Chicago on Friday September 5th 2014, and was hosted by Allison Rosati, Co-Anchor of NBC 5 News.
