AboutSignature Hardwoods

Signature Hardwoods was born from a passion for wood, its natural beauty and its distinct appearance. Founder and head designer Tom Koczur shares, “I was always interested in creating a unique floor, where I could combine a touch of the European tradition so close to my heart, with exciting contemporary elements into one unique design.”

Our goal is to create a floor that combines distinctive style and unique finishing details, while at the same time, allowing both durability and beauty. The floor is the focal center of every home and simply must express the owner’s character and personality.

Vintage French Oak

Inspired by French chateaus, Italian villas and English manors and chosen for its durability, beauty and practicality, French oak is our favorite.  Prized for its beautiful warm color, unmatched stability, fine uniform texture and tight grain, it’s the oldest and most versatile wood flooring known to man. Signature Hardwoods imports genuine French oak hardwood directly from Europe. A high tannin content and minimal sapwood enables it to absorb dyes, stains and oils consistently. Our exclusive hand-selected rustic-character grade of French oak, referred to as vintage, blends Old World charm with casual elegance, making it a discerning choice for flooring.

MRP®Moisture-Resistant-Platform

Signature Bespoke Vintage French Oak® extra-long wide-plank flooring creations are exclusively handcrafted in a state-of-the-art facility where traditional methods benefit from modern technology. Our floors are produced using a 6 mm (1/4”) European-grown French oak hardwood top wear-layer permanently bonded to a constructed multi-layer Moisture-Resistant-Platform (MRP®), to create an impeccable dimensionally stable floor that is both beautiful and extremely durable, and suitable for installation from the most dry to the most humid climates. Our exclusive MRP® technology floors are the closest you can get to water-proof wood flooring without settling for materials that only suggest the appearance of a hardwood floor.

Timeless Tradition of Superior Craftsmanship

Simply put, Signature Hardwoods is set apart from other luxury flooring suppliers by our insistence on using only the finest woods and most talented craftsmen, while maintaining careful awareness for the environment and dedication to the art and tradition of crafting beautiful, enduring floors. Only at Signature will your feet find the comfort of a thoughtfully chosen selection of flooring, masterfully worked for you, your future generations, and to last the test of time.

Our Process

Each plank of your floor is a handcrafted, one of a kind piece of art. Our skilled artisans use the same tools and methods applied hundreds of years ago, making your home’s hardwood floor truly designed for only you. The floor we create especially for you is not only uniquely beautiful, but it’s also extremely practical. The hard wearing, durable surface is an intelligent investment in your home’s future. Every character and distress mark not only highlights the wood’s natural beauty, but also creates a floor that can withstand all the “realities” of daily life. While other floors may deteriorate, yours will improve with age.

Our Floors Are Virtually Maintenance Free

Our floors are meant to last for generations while requiring very little effort to ensure that they do. A beautiful, unique patina will develop over time that cannot be duplicated, giving each project individual character. Specially designed gentle cleansers and refresheners are available for every floor we offer. Our floor cleansers are easy to use, only requiring the addition of water to clean away daily dust and dirt, and to disinfect your floors without chemically damaging the wood. After years of use and abuse, your floor may be renewed through our special rejuvenation process which includes a reapplication of hardwax oils. Floors don’t need to be sanded to be refreshed, which avoids dust pollution and ensures that your custom color stays as true as the day it was installed.
